- Create scenes from video files
- Download your episode
- Move this .roam file to the same folder as your video files
- To play your episode, click ROAM above, then drag in your .roam and video files
- • Reordering items: click & drag grey bar on left (with order number)
- • Delete an item: click red bar
- • Scene 1 will play first. Beyond that, the order of the scenes doesn't matter.
- • Developed in Chrome–other browsers not tested
- • If a scene has multiple angles, they must (obviously) all be the same duration
- • Redirects are helpful for dead-end paths (going back to where you came from) or when multiple paths lead to the same next scene.
- • For ends of episodes, choose Decision, then enter some text like "You have reached the end of this episode." as the title. You can also add a link like "← Start Over" and link it to scene 1
- • To add arrows like ← or →, enter "←" or "→"
- • If using multiple angles: only drag in the main angles of each scene. To add additional angles, you'll need to click Add Another angle on that scene. Also note that when you create a new scene (by dragging in a new file), it duplicates the settings from the last scene on the list, but clears out the values. So for example if you add a scene with 3 angles, then drag another video into Create Scenes, all remaining
- Suggestion: If you want all paths to end up in the same place, with the same video & message, create a scene called End of Episode, set the ending type to Decision, and set the decision to start at 0. Whenever you reach the end of a story branch, set ending type to Jump to New Scene, and choose "End of Episode" from the dropdown.
Despite the fact that you're dragging your files in, your files will not touch our servers. All of the processing is done by your computer.
Don't believe us? Disconnect your internet, build your episode, download your files, then close the tab before reconnecting. Still works.
